Create the TES Users Group

The TES Users Group is used to identify those users who require the ability to perform transfer tasks in TES (also known as "Operators"). Once the group is created, you can then assign users to it.

To create the TES Users group:

  1. Open the PI System Management Tools console.

  2. Connect to the PI System that hosts the AF Databases.Figure 1760: PI System Management Tools console - Server and Security selections

  3. Under the System Management Tools section, Click on Security to expand the list.

  4. Click on Identities, Users, & Groups, to open that list on the right (as shown in the following figure).Figure 1761: PI System Management Tools console - Identities, Users, & Groups

  5. Click on the PI Groups tab to display the PI Groups panel.

  6. Right-click inside the PI Groups panel and select New Group.

The New Group window opens.Figure 1762: New Group window

  7. In the Group box, type the name TES Users.

IMPORTANT: The TES Users group must be named "TES Users," as TES does not recognize any other group name for Operators (users).

  8. The Server box is automatically populated with the name of the server to which you are currently connected. You can leave this selection as is, or select a different server if necessary.

  9. (Optional) In the Description box, you can repeat the group name or provide any description you like that indicates this is the TES operators (users) group.

  10. Click the Create button.

The group appears in the list of groups.

You are ready to assign users to the group. See Assign Users to Groups for more details.
