Transfer Entry System (TES) Introduction

In a typical process plant, material movements (transfers) between storage tanks, process units and receipt and shipment points occur on a normal basis. These are non-permanent flows, with connections that apply only for the duration of the transfer. In managing these transfers, you need a tool that allows you to enter the transfers into the Sigmafine AF database. The Transfer Entry System (TES) application has been designed for just this purpose. The application provides the logic necessary to validate, calculate and store the transfers for future reference, and complements existing applications, such as Dataloader, AF-Builder for Excel, and XML import from AF Explorer, for data entry into the Sigmafine systems.

How It Works

TES uses the existing Sigmafine database to provide estimations of inventories and volume corrections factors. A group of management utilities allow you to create and review the required configuration tables that store the configuration information controlling the behavior of the application. This group of utilities prevents the possibility of creating incorrect configurations, such as invalid tank names.

Features

TES provides the following features:

  • Type of movement selection (shipment, receipt, or movement)
  • Logic for valid sources and destinations
  • Material checking
  • Quantity - Volume calculations from source or destination tank using levels or volumes
  • Volume corrections
  • Loading from a comma-separated value file (CSV) or spreadsheet format
