Configuring - Cylindrical Horizontal Tank with Hemi-Ellipsoidal Ends

To use the wizard to do a tank volume calculation for a cylindrical horizontal tank with hemi-ellipsoidal ends:

  1. Follow steps 1 through 8 under Configuring - Geometric Calculation, then continue with the steps below.

  2. In the Tank Volume From Gauge Data Reference window, select Cylindrical Horizontal with Hemi-Ellipsoidal Ends as the geometric calculation.

  3. Select the Gauge attribute and Geometric Properties using the following table as a guide.

    Tank radius (R)Enter the radius of the tank.

    Length of minor axis (A)Enter the length of the minor axis.
    Tangent-to-end of head (D)Enter length from tangent to end of the head.
    Geometric UOMSelect the unit of measure to use in the data reference.
    Maximum capacity attributeSelect the Maximum Attribute to use in the data reference.
  4. When finished with the configuration, click Finish to save the configuration.
