Transfer Calculations
Use the Transfer Calculations to determine the amount of mass or volume transferred to (or from) an inventory element. This method requires that the inventory Attributes that you are going to reference must be configured to a time-sensitive data reference (PI Point DR). To calculate the amount of material, use the start time and end time of the transfer and the source or destination inventory element. It is also possible to calculate the density of the transfer if both the delta volume and delta mass inventories are known.
The following equations are used to calculate mass, volume, and density of a transfer, respectively.
Transfer Calculation Equations
| Mass - Using the Source Inventory | Mass - Using the Destination Inventory |
|---|---|
| Volume - Using the Source Inventory | Volume - Using the Destination Inventory |
| Density - Using the Source Inventory | Density - Using the Destination Inventory |
Where:
mt = the calculated mass of the transfer
ms = the mass inventory of the source
mD = the mass inventory of the destination
vt = the calculated volume of the transfer
vS = the volume inventory of the source
vD = the volume inventory of the destination
ρt = the density inventory of the transfer
The symbols | t=t1 and | t=t2 mean that the variable is evaluated at the time equal to the start time or the end time of the transfer, respectively.
See Configuring - Transfer Calculations for details on how to configure this calculation.
