Sigmafine Data Reference
The Sigmafine Data Reference performs different types of calculations. The results of these calculations are used as inputs into Sigmafine analyses and reporting. The calculations are listed in the following table.
Sigmafine Data Reference Calculations
| Calculation Category | Calculation Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Meters | Liquid Meter Compensation | Determines the compensated liquid flow at standard conditions from the liquid flow at actual conditions for orifice meters. |
| Gas Meter Compensation | Determines the compensated gas flow at standard conditions from the gas flow at actual conditions for orifice meters. | |
| Tank Inventory | Vapor Space – Mass | Finds the equivalent amount (mass or volume) of material of the vapor space between the liquid level and the tank roof. |
| Vapor Space – Volume | ||
| Gross to Net Volume | Finds the tank net volume from the gross volume. | |
| Floating Roof Adjustment – Method 1 | Calculates the tank volume adjustment due to liquid displacement in a floating roof tank. | |
| Floating Roof Adjustment – Method 2 | ||
| Transfer Calculations | Using source or destination tanks, starting and ending volumes can be calculated so that transfer quantities can be determined. | |
| Liquid Volume Corrections | Tank Shell Correction Calculation | Determines the adjustment factor due to the shell expansion with changes in temperature. This adjustment is used in the Gross to Net Volume correction. |
| Material Volume Correction Factor (VCF) | Calculates the volume correction factor (VCF) for a liquid due to temperature expansion. | |
| Tolerance | Tank Tolerance based on Uncertainties | Finds the measurement tolerance for a vertical tank volume. It considers the uncertainties due to strapping, gauge reading, temperature measurement and volume correction factor estimation. |
| Measurement Tolerance | Calculates the measurement tolerance based on a relative percentage and an absolute amount in mass or volume units. Supports most unit classes. |
The parameters needed for the calculation are retrieved from Attributes within the same element. In some calculations, static values are stored with the calculation configuration. The following section describes the requirements for each calculation.
