Configuring - Tank Shell Correction Calculation

This configuration can be done at the template or individual Element level. The example procedure shown below is done at the template level.

  1. In the System Explorer navigation pane, click on Library.Figure 558: System Explorer - Select Element Template

  2. From the Templates > Element Templates tree, select the tank template (i.e., SF_GaugedTankTemplate).

  3. Click on the Attribute Templates tab.

  4. In the Name column, select the Attribute for the Shell Correction Factor (i.e., i3_ShellCorrectionFactor).

  5. Click on the Data Reference down-arrow and select Sigmafine.

  6. Click the Settings button to open the Sigmafine Data Reference window.Figure 559: Sigmafine Data Reference - Volume Corrections

  7. Under Calculation Category select Volume Corrections.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Select Tank Shell Correction Factor.

  10. Click Next.

  11. Using the following Liquid Attributes table, select/enter the Attributes for Liquid Attributes.

  12. Using the following Tank Data table, select the Attributes for Tank Construction Material.

    Liquid Attributes

    Input Box / ButtonDescription
    Liquid TemperatureSelect attribute; units of temperature.
    Ambient TemperatureSelect attribute; units of temperature.
    Tank Strapping TemperatureEnter base temperature (at tank strapping) in the selected unit of temperature.

    Tank Data

    Input Box / ButtonDescription
    Tank Construction MaterialSelect steel type. For more information, see the ‘Using the Steel Data Table section’.
    Insulated / UninsulatedSelect whether tank has insulation or no insulation.
  13. When finished, click Finish to complete the configuration.
