Working with Element Connections in a Model

After elements are in a model, you can draw connectors, add flows, and attachments.

  • Connectors: Show visual links between elements.
  • Flows: Show material flow in and out of elements.
  • Attachments: Associate measurements with flows and other elements.

The Element templates hold definitions for how the ports of an Element participate in connections and attachments. These rules include the following:

  • Type of port - Input, Output, or Undirected.
  • Maximum number of connections on a port.
  • Types of elements that are allowed to connect.
  • Port that is the default.

Refer to the following \topics for more details and instructions on working with Element Connections.
