Basic IF Install Steps
The following are the basic steps to follow when installing Integration Framework. These steps include the preparation and setup of the IF Server, IF Client and the IF Data Reference.
Step 1: Prepare your new server machine by installing compatible versions of Sigmafine and PI Components.
Step 2: Check the hardware and software requirements for the Server installation. See Hardware Requirements, Software Requirements and System Requirements.
Step 3: If you have any existing IF version components, you need to uninstall them.
Step 4: ONLY FOR MIGRATIONS: If you are migrating to a new server, check the IF version in your old environment against that of the new environment. If they are the same version, see Migrating Identical IF Versions; if they are not the same version see Migrating Different IF Versions.
Step 5: Install IF SERVER on your new server machine. See Installing IF SERVER. (This step includes copying the License file into the system32 and sysWOW64 directories).
Step 6: Check to ensure that the Security Model Initialization completed. See Standard Security Model Initialization Completed.
Step 7: Start the IF Service. See Starting the IF Service.
Step 8: Install IF CLIENT on a client machine. See Installing IF CLIENT.
Step 9: Confirm that the Configuration (configuration tool) has been installed. See Confirming the Configurator Install.
Step 10: Run the IF Configurator tool as an Administrator and add the new IF Server (WCF Server). (See Adding a New Server).
Step 11: Ensure that the endpoint address in the WCFServiceHost.exe.config file displays the same name as the IF Server. See Checking WCFServiceHost.exe.config.
Step 12: Run the Configurator and test the connection between the IF Client and the IF Server. SeeTesting and Connecting Servers.
Step 13: Install the Integration Framework Data Reference (IFDR). See Installing the IF Data Reference.
Step 14: Register the IF Shadow Service. See Registering the IF Shadow Service.
