Installing IF SERVER

The IF Server setup program installs and helps you configure the Integration Framework Server on the machine you have selected as the IF server. When running the setup program, ensure that you do so with Be sure to have administrative rights.

You can run the setup program by using either a local or domain account. However, in order to use and automatically configure the domain credentials for Integration Framework security, we strongly suggest running the setup program as Domain/Active Directory account with machine administrative privileges.

Installation Prerequisites

  1. Check the hardware and software requirements for the Server installation.
  2. If you have any existing IF version components, you need to uninstall them.
  3. Verify that all prerequisite software has been installed correctly.
  4. Verify that you have the license file provided by Pimsoft.
  5. Verify that you have a user with administrative privileges.
  6. Verify that the Windows Firewall is disabled.

Note: The license file can be a temporary license or a permanent one. This license is a machine-specific file, so it is not transferable to any other machine(s). If you have a development system, be sure to use the right license file for the system.

  2. Open the Windows Service control panel and verify the following:

  • The Pimsoft.IF.Service service exists.

  • The Logon User is: LOCAL SYSTEM – with no Desktop interaction

    Note:

  • The Pimsoft.IF.Service service is installed when running the server install kit and configured as a manual start-up. However, it can be set to run automatically after the entire configuration has been done.

  • The Service must be started as “Local System” in order to open the endpoints.

  • You use the Windows Service Control Panel to manually start the service.
