Configuring - Molecular Weight Calculation

Use the Molecular Weight Calculation to determine the average molecular weight for a mixture of known components.

  1. Select the analyzer Element and the molecular weight Attribute where to load the molecular weight calculated from the composition in the selected Component Measurement Data attribute.Figure 458: System Explorer - Molecular Weight Calculation - Attributes tab

  2. For the attribute’s Data Reference Name, select MW (Molecular Weight).

  3. The Default UOM value should be a molecular weight unit of measure value.

  4. The Value Type should be Double.

  5. Click the Settings button.

The Components Data Reference window opens.Figure 459: Components Data Reference window - Physical Property Calculations

  6. Under Calculation type, select Physical Property Calculations, then click Next.

The Physical Property Calculation window opens.Figure 460: Physical Property Calculation window - Molecular Weight

  7. Select Molecular Weight (this is the only option available since the UOM for the Attribute is in the molecular weight class) and click Next.

The Molecular Weight Calculation window opens.Figure 461: Molecular Weight Calculations window

  8. Fill in the Physical Property Calculation window as described in the table below.
