Components Data Reference Introduction

This Data Reference is used to:

  • Configure component input composition data (component name, tolerances, maximum values, minimum values, default values and value entries) for analyzers and transactions.
  • Calculate physical properties (molecular weight, apparent liquid density and heating values) based on the composition entered in the analyzer or transaction. When you configure an Attribute to use this data reference and you select Physical Property Calculation, the result of the calculation is stored in the attribute.
  • Create data tables to hold information for component input data in analyzers and transactions. When you configure an Attribute to use this data reference and you select Analyzer Configuration or Measurement Basis Conversion, this data reference creates a data table that is stored in the attribute. This data table holds the component names, values, tolerance, minimum, maximum, and default values.
  • Provide the component data and calculations necessary to run the Component Balance Analysis Rule.
  • Create data table to hold reconciled component results data for flows, transactions and inventories when using the Component Balance Analysis Rule. When you configure an Attribute to use this data reference and you select Component Results Configuration, this data reference creates a data table that is stored in the attribute. This data table holds the component names and reconciled values.
  • The component data used by this Data Reference is stored in an AF Table named the SF_Component table

This data reference performs calculations needed for component balances. Use it to configure the analyzer components for each analyzer element. The data reference configures the calculations listed in the following table.

Components Data Reference Calculations

CalculationDescription
Analyzer ConfigurationConfigures the components, values and tolerances for analyzers.
Measurement Basis ConversionConversions are bidirectional and can make calculations among these component types; mass/volume/molar fraction
Physical Property Calculation – Molecular WeightCalculates the average molecular weight of a gas, liquid or solid mixture based on the mass/volume/molar fraction measured by an analyzer.
Physical Property Calculation – DensityCalculates the average density of a liquid or solid mixture based on the mass/volume/molar fraction measured by an analyzer.
Physical Property Calculation - Net Heating ValueCalculates the average heating value of a gas, liquid, solid based on the mass/volume/molar fraction measured by an analyzer.
Component Results ConfigurationThe Component Balance Analysis Rule creates a series of analysis results for each component measured by the analyzers in the model.

The analyzer configuration option in this data reference supports only the configuration of Element attributes, not template attributes.

Note: The parameters needed for the calculations are retrieved from Attributes within the same element. The following section describes the requirements for each calculation and the default parameters in the Sigmafine Element templates (templates beginning with “SF_”).
