Whiteboard Displays

Whiteboard is a new feature that allows users to draw synoptics in a simplified way without requiring any Sigmafine Knowledge. Thus, users shall use Whiteboard to draft their plants, units, etc. using symbols provided by the “Whiteboard symbol library” and drawing connections between them without the need to know about flows, nodes, etc. This design mode is more “natural” and closer to process engineering practices.

Whiteboard is the tool that shall be used for proof of concept, during the data collection phase of each Sigmafine project or for building a plant accounting graphical demo.

  • Does not require a Sigmafine Server.
  • Does not require the definition of any Sigmafine entity (Templates, etc.).
  • Accelerate the exchange of information having both Customers and Suppliers working on a shared platform (SFHub).
  • Remove the need for third-party tools such as Visio, Excel or PowerPoint.
  • Reduce to zero the exchange of information via files, emails, etc.
  • Host information in a safe and organized environment.
  • Keep track of every change by maintaining tagged versions (Whom When, etc.).

The SFHub Whiteboard Converter is used to convert a Whiteboard to a Sigmafine Model providing a set of functionalities:

  • Automatic implementation of Sigmafine rules.
  • Definition of flows and nodes.
  • Meters linking to flows.
  • Consistency checks.

The first release of the Whiteboard functions will come with some limitations:

  • Sigmafine Model (and database) cannot be merged meaning that while converting a Whiteboard to a Sigmafine Model, the existing Model will be reset.
  • Sigmafine display will not be automatically created.
  • No Symbol configuration.
