Notifications

There are two notification methods used to indicate the receipt of a notification; Toast pop-ups and the Notification panel.

Toast Pop-ups Notifications

The Toast pop-ups are notifications that appears in red or blue colored panels that are opened in the top right corner of the Display panel, and that remain open for a limited number of seconds. The red color indicates an operational error, while the blue color indicates an operational confirmation. As each operational notification is received, a sound is produced along with the appearance of the pop-up.

Notification Panel

The Notification panel displays every notification you receive, including those displayed in the "Toast" pop-ups. All are stored and available through the notification panel which is accessible from the icon that resembles a text bubble with three dots inside the bubble. The icon is located toward the bottom of the command bar along with the Messaging and User icons. Each time a new notification is received, it is highlighted by a sound (which can be disabled) and the appearance of a colored marker indicating the status and number of messages. The marker contains the total number of messages stored and is gray when all messages have already been viewed, or red if there are new messages have not been viewed. The following table provides a description for each state of the Notification marker.

Notifications Marker Descriptions

MarkerDescription
When the notification marker displays as a red circle with a white number, it indicates that one or more new notifications have been received. If any notifications have been previously received and read, but not "dismissed" they are included in the number that appears in the red circle. The circle will remain red until you open the Notifications panel.
When the notification marker displays as a white circle with a gray number, it indicates that there are existing notifications that have been viewed but that have not yet been "dismissed".
When the Notification marker is absent (not visible), it indicates that there are currently no notifications that can be viewed in the Notifications panel. This is the state of the Notification icon immediately after "dismissing" all the notifications.

The following notification types are available from the Notifications panel:

  • Errors (all protocol and or functional errors)
  • Case status (all related statuses)
  • Case management (all related management actions)
