Create a Scheduler Instance
The Sigmafine Scheduler Configuration Tool provides a Create feature that allows you to create new Scheduler instances. This feature is accessible from the Scheduler Instances area of the Scheduler Configuration Tool window.
Note: In order to Create, Delete, Start or Stop a Scheduler instance, you are required to run the Schedule Configuration tool as an administrator.
To create a new Scheduler instance:
Under the Scheduler Instances area, click the Create button.
You are asked to confirm the creation of a new instance.
Click Yes to confirm.
An Instance Creation Configuration window opens.
In the Name box, type a name for the instance.
The name must be different than the standard/default instance name of "Pimsoft Sigmafine Scheduler".
In the Executable box, type the customized name of the executable file running the instance.
Usually, the executable name is the same name of the instance with "dots" (periods) and an “exe” extension (suffix).
In the TCP Port box, use the up and down arrows to select TCP port for command execution.
In lieu of using the up and down arrows, you can type the port number directly into the box.
To ensure that the TCP Port is not already being used by another instance or another application, please ask your system administrator to check and provide you with an available port number. The TCP/IP port should allow listening for incoming requests. The default TCP/IP Port for an instance is usually 5470.
Click OK to create the new instance and close the Instance Creation Configuration window.
You are returned to the Sigmafine Scheduler Configuration Tool window where your new instance is becomes visible in the Scheduler Instances list.
As soon as you click OK, the configuration tool performs the following actions:
- Copies and initializes all the needed files for the new instance (executable and configuration)
- Registers the new instance for the execution as Windows service
- Updates all internal references for Sigmafine Scheduler
