Analyzing a Case
To analyze a case:
Open Case Runner.
If Case Runner is not visible, select View > AF Case Runner from the menu.
Click on the buttons in Case Runner to execute the Case analysis.
Use the following table as a guide for the steps you want to run.
The Case Runner window provides a series of buttons with checkboxes that allow you to run each step of the Case analysis individually or run all when you click the 'Run' button. The following table provides a view of each button without the button text and checkboxes. The display of the button text and checkboxes is controlled by settings in the 'Case Runner Properties' window. See Configuring Case Runner for more information.

| Collect Elements – Establishes the elements to include in a case, based on their inclusion in any of the active layers of the case/display. | |
| Collect Transfers – Locates any transfers to include in a case, based on the transfer s’ time and whether it is connected to any elements in the case. | |
| Collect Inputs – Collect all inputs for the analysis to use in running the case. | |
| Run – Run the analysis for the current case. | |
| Publish – Send output results of the analysis back to the attributes' configured data source. | |
| Status bar – Each button has a status of success (green) or failure (yellow). If you move the mouse over the status bar, you can see more information. If the status bar is gray, it indicates that the "Run as Needed" option in the 'Case Runner Properties' window is turned off for that button (step).Note that you can also refer to the 'General' tab of the 'Case Properties' window for a summary. | |
| Auto-Run Check Box – Each button has an auto-run check box that runs the step when you click the button for the subsequent step. Depending on the "Run as Needed" settings, previous tasks may also be executed when you click a button. You can override this feature by pressing and holding Shift on your keyboard when you click a button. |
