Configuring - Unit of Measure (UOM) Data Reference
The UOM Data Reference can be configured at the template level or the Element level. Where to do the configuration depends if you want the configuration for all elements associated with a template or whether you want it to apply to just one element.
For instance, in a gas meter the standard volumetric flow is calculated from actual volumetric flow a volumetric and it needs to be converted to a mass flow for a Sigmafine Mass Balance. Since this calculation is applied to all liquid meters, the conversion of a liquid flow to a mass flow should be done at the template level using this data reference.
Configuration Procedure
To configure data reference with the wizard, follow the steps below using either the System Explorer or the Modeler.
Though the steps below are shown in System Explorer, the options are the same in Modeler.
In the System Explorer navigation pane, click on Library.

From the Library tree, select the Element or Element template.
In our example, we selected the 'SF_GassMeterTemplate' Element template.
Click on the Attributes or Attribute Templates tab.
The tab name differs depending on whether you selected an Element or and Element template.
In the Name column, select the Attribute for which you want to do the conversion calculation.
In our example, we chose the 'i5_Meas-Mass' attribute.
In the Data Reference column select UOM.
Click the Settings button to open the first UOM Data Reference window.

The first UOM Data Reference window allows you to select the general type of UOM class to class conversion.
Select the Conversion Type you want to use.
In our example, we selected 'Mass to/from Volume (Gases)'.
Click Next to open the second UOM Data Reference window.

The second UOM Data Reference window allows you to select the specific type of conversion you want.
Select the Select Conversion option you want to use.
In our example, we chose the 'Standard Volume to Mass' option.
Click Next to open the final UOM Data Reference window.

The final UOM Data Reference window allows you to select the input Attributes for the conversion.
Select the Input Attributes for the conversion you have selected.
In our example, we chose 'i4_meas_Volume' as the Standard Gas Volume and 'i3_MW' as the Molecular Weight.
Click the Finish button to save your configuration and close the window.
The following sample displays the configuration in the System Explorer window.
