Sigmafine TimeInState Data Reference Introduction
The Sigmafine TimeInState Data Reference is used to provide information pertaining to how much time a PI tag has been in a certain state, or in other words, it can calculate the Run Time. This data reference is only valid in the context of a case.

The result of a TimeInState calculation is displayed in either time UOM or in %. The PI Point Data Reference does not have the capability to calculate the Run Time, making TimeInState Data Reference useful in performing that calculation.
Note: ‘On’ and ‘Off’ states are mentioned for explanation purposes only. It is not required for a PI Tag to be a Digital State PI Tag. The Data Reference will function for any PI Tag with any value.
Required Data Reference Attribute
The Sigmafine TimeInState Data Reference requires that an Attribute be added to an Element so that the data reference can be configured. The Element can be based on any existing template or you can create a new template. Requirements for the Element Attribute are described in the \remaining topics under Sigmafine TimeInState.
This data reference also requires that elements have an Attribute with the Value Type of “Anything”. The Attribute name can be anything you choose.
