Upgrading from a Previous Version of Sigmafine

The upgrade to Sigmafine Server 4.7 R2 requires an upgrade of all Sigmafine client installations. Earlier versions of Sigmafine Client are no longer compatible.

Any third party or custom plug-in that is used with a Sigmafine database must be digitally signed. This is a new requirement of OSIsoft PI Server 2018 SP3 Patch 1 and Sigmafine 4.7 R2.

Typically, most installations upgrade the PI Server and PI AF together. However, this is not strictly necessary. For those deployments that only upgrade AF, but retain an earlier PI Server version (pre-2018 SP3 Patch 1), there are no known issues for Sigmafine 4.7 R2. The earlier PI Server software will continue to work with COM Connectors and AF will continue to work in the same way it always has.
