Data Importer Usage

Usage​

Using the Data Importer is relatively easy. You simply run the application executable file, configure the Data Importer for the type of data you are importing, select the import file (Excel spreadsheet file or a comma-separated variable (.csv) file) and then perform the import of the data from that file.

Data Importer File Locations​

Application File: The Data Importer tool (Pimsoft.Import.exe) is installed under the following folder: \Program Files (x86)\Sigmafine\Bin.

Log File: When running Data Importer, success and error messages are written to a log file. This log file is called DataImport.log and is located your %TEMP% directory.

Supported Import File Formats​

The Data Importer accepts the following file formats:

  • Excel spreadsheet .xls and .xlsx files
  • Comma-separated variable .csv files

Note: Microsoft Excel must be installed on the computer that runs the Data Importer in order to open and read .xls and .xlsx data files. Excel is not required for reading .csv files.
