What is Studio Package
A Studio Developer license is required to use studio package
With Studio package we intend the material entity that will be distributed and that will contain the Studio project and its component: Analytic, Report and Dashboard, Worflows. In other words, each package will deliver Analytics, Reports and Dashboards, Worflows.
The fundamental element of this initiative is SFHub and more specifically its capability of extending the functionalities of the Sigmafine product through the distribution of Studio projects, therefore without releasing new software versions.
The key concepts, of this capability, are:
- Move out of the product (software releases) all those components that:
- Pimsoft intends to sell as add-on
- Extend the standard product functionalities and features but are though to collapse inside a programmed logic because of their significant degree of customization
- Are Customer oriented, in principle are the same for all Customers but in practice are not
- Are business specific
- Encourage other parties to contribute to the product by sharing articrafts, ideas, etc.
- Allow Sigmafine’s partners to develop extensions for their customers and to better qualify themselves in the Sigmafine ecosystem
- Allow Pimsoft to distribute tutorials etc. fostering the adoption of SFHub
- Allow Pimsoft to easily share, with Customers, features that may be interesting or relevant
The initiative may also lead the creation of a Sigmafine users community
How Studio package is different from releasing software versions?
In principle the main difference is that a package does not require to be installed, in other words does not require to access the application software and install a new version or a patch, but there are additional benefits:
- Allows users to be independent from IT department
- Allows users to add the features of their interest easily and without requiring installation on the server
- It is safe, the system is not modified, and therefore the only risk is that the expected functionalities do not work
- It's as simple as installing an app on a mobile or computer
- Streamlines the process, users who have permissions can do it without affecting the functioning of the system
- Allows users to be independent from IT department
- Makes Sigmafine more dynamic, allowing Pimsoft, and possibly other parts, to add features and functionality
- Try and check approach, no risks
- Every SFHub user can create new functionality and distribute them
