Where are Models Stored?

Actual data and definitions comprising a Model are located in the AF Database. The AF Server keeps the history of the analysis data and the current configuration of the model. Models can be presented visually in a suite of client-side tools, such as Sigmafine Modeler and PI System Explorer, for building, editing, and running analyses on the model. The visual representation of a Model is stored in a ProcessBook display. A display can be stored as an independent file (.pdi), contained within a WorkBook (.piw), or, within ProcessBook-generated scalable vector graphic files (.svg).

  • Files with a .pdi extension contain the information comprising a single display or model.
  • Files with a .piw extension contain a ProcessBook and all the displays of which it is composed.
  • Files with a .svg extension are scalable vector graphics.
