LNG, NGL & LPG Extension

An LNG, NGL or LPG facility requires inventory positions of the product at a given moment. In order to accurately estimate inventory positions, the user needs to calculate density using the composition of the LNG, NGL or LPG by a chromatographic analysis of the sample and the actual temperature of the LNG product. The results of the chromatographic analysis provide molar composition of each gas that composes an LNG, NGL or LPG product. Once composition and temperature are known the revised Klosek-McKinley (KMK) method is used to compute LNG, NGL or LPG density. The limits of the equation validity are at least 60% molar of methane and temperature of less than 115 K.

Other values are required by the users at the facility to compute the energy transferred or stored. These are: gross heating content and compressibility factor. The LNG, NGL and LPG calculations extension computes these necessary calculations to assist the user in their business process needs.

This extension performs different types of calculations specified in the manual. The results of these calculations are used as inputs into Sigmafine analyses and reporting. However, this data reference does not support outputs.

The Data References use the following custom AF tables:

  • SF_CTL_data
  • LNG_Molar_Volume
  • LNG_VRC1
  • LNG_VRC2
  • SF_Component table

The Data References use custom UOM:
