Terminology
The following terms are used throughout the Excel Add-In \topics and relate to the analysis and Modeling tools.
Common Terms
| Term | Definition |

| Model | A Model is the complete set of information necessary for performing an analysis on a case. A typical Model might cover one section of the plant or process and include the analysis type (mass balance, imbalance) and the time intervals (e.g. hourly, daily). |
| Element | An entity or Element in a model. Element types are measurement, node, flow, boundary, or user defined. |
| Attribute | Element configuration information, such as the measured value of a meter Element or a level of a tank element. |
| Value | An input or output of an analysis that can change from one calculation period to the next. Examples are input values, such as density and output values, such as reconciled mass. |
| Case Period | The time range of a single analysis run. |
