Perform the Balance Calculation

Sigmafine determines a set of data for a Model that makes each balancing point have the least difference between the quantity entering and leaving that point. The balance takes into consideration the confidence of each measurement. This confidence is referred to as the measurement tolerance. The balance calculation finds the reconciled value set that minimizes the following calculation, constrained by the Model connectivity.

Where:

Rawi = measured value of ith measurement

Reci = reconciled value of ith measurement

Tolerancei \= tolerance of ith measured value

i = ith measurement

Note: Prior to performing the balance calculation, if an Element has any Attribute with a bad value (flagged as bad by the data reference), that has the SF_AnalysisInput Attribute category, the analysis marks the Element as out of service (OS) and then runs the calculation.

Reconciled Values

The primary result of this balance calculation is a series of reconciled values for all flow, inventory, and transfer elements in the model. This set of values best satisfies the balance equation considering every point in the Model relative to the confidence in each value (as determined by the tolerance).

It is important to note that while the measured values on flows come from meters, the reconciled values go to the flow to which the meter is attached. This is because a flow can have more than one measurement, but only one reconciled value.
