Hardware Requirements for SFHub Application Server

Microsoft SQL Server database requirements​

The Microsoft SQL Server database dedicated to SigmafineHub requires about 200MB of storage (this is the default size assigned during the installation). The size of the database can be changed according following criteria:

  • The storage (in MB's) required for each imported and converted PI ProcessBook display depends on the size of the display (number of elements). Larger displays will of course require more space.
  • Each connected user requires about 10MB.
  • The Audit system records connection, activities and actions. Therefore, the required disk space strongly depends on how the system is used (number of connected users, open displays, case activities, etc.). Consider approximately 5MB daily.
  • The SigmafineHub records AF Case information. Therefore, the required disk space varies according to the activities. Consider approximately 5MB per each case.
  • The Chat system records all messages. Therefore, the required disk space depends on the traffic.
  • The Case Audit system records all case activities. The amount of space varies, according to performed activities.
  • The Setting system records all common and users\' settings. Consider 10MB for each setting.
  • The SigmafineHub Studio requires additional storage to store components and insights at case level. The amount of recorded information depends on multiple factors: the number of analytics, the number of generated insights by each analytic and the number of cases.

Log, Cache and Attachment files requirements​

The Log, Cache and attachment files can be large, especially if you exchange a lot of attachments and plan to have several concurrent users playing with multiple displays and cases concurrently. Log, Cache and Attachment files are located in the selected directory.

As an approximate guideline to estimate the size of the cache files:

  • Log

    Daily log files are generated under the folder C:\ProgramData\Pimsoft with file extension .log. File size varies depending on the activity. Consider approximately 2 to 5MB for each file.

    Note

    Log files are not required. Therefore, we recommend that you purge them weekly, leaving only the last 7 days of log files online.
    Also consider that you may change the log level, reducing the number of messages.

  • Packages\Build

    Studio packages - If you don't own a Studio license, this directory remains empty. Otherwise, it contains the packages created by your users.

  • Packages\Uploaded

    This folder is used to temporarily store packages. The folder is typically empty.

  • Packages\Register

    Studio packages - This folder contains all packages that you have registered. Initially empty until you register a Studio package.

  • Attachment

    Attachment file sizes depend on what users exchange through the Messaging system. We recommend that you do a weekly purge, leaving only the last 7 days of messages online.

  • Display

    Display files are created when Displays are imported. However, the system automatically deletes them when they are uploaded. Therefore, consider maintaining at least the last 10MB of Display files.

Summary of hardware requirements​

  • CPU (cores) >= 4
  • CPU speed (GHz) >= 2.5
  • RAM (GB) >= 8
  • Total DISK SPACE (GB) > 500
