SQL Server PIFD Database

There are two possible scenarios, when restoring the PIFD Database:

  • Scenario A: The SQL Server has crashed and has to be reinstalled again.
  • Scenario B: The SQL Server is performing properly, however the PIFD Database needs to be restored.

For Scenario A, start from step 1.

For Scenario B, start from step 2.

To restore the PIFD Database:

Note: This procedure assumes the operating system was reinstalled and has no knowledge of the previous installation.

  1. Install the same version of the SQL Server.

  2. Stop the AF Server on the AF server machine, if running.

  3. After connecting to the appropriate instance of the SQL Server Database Engine, in the Object Explorer, click the server name to expand the tree.

  4. Right-click on PIFD Database, select Tasks, and click the Restore button.

  5. On the General tab:

For a new install (scenario A) write the name of the new database, PIFD, which at this point does not exist.

For an existing database (scenario B), select the name of the restoring database ('To' database) from list box. Select PIFD Database.

  6. To specify the source and location of the backup sets to restore, click on From device, and select the backup file to restore.
