Create and Flash a Stream

In both the “SF_Thermo_Flash” and “SF_Thermo_Meter-Flow” Element templates, there is an Element Attribute called i_StreamFlashCalculation. Use this Attribute to create the stream.

To create and flash a stream:

In your SF_Thermo_Flash or SF_Thermo_Meter-Flow element:

  1. Select the i_StreamFlashCalculation attribute.

  2. For the attribute’s Data Reference, select Thermodynamics Package.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Select Stream Flash Calculation Configuration.

  5. Click Next to enter the configuration tool.

  6. Using the configuration tool, customize the configuration.

    Once configured, the Attribute outputs a Stream object, which is not viewable from SF System Explorer. This object packs the information about the mixture, the equation of state parameters, the properties of the vapor and of the liquid phase. These elements are used by the "Select Stream Property to Retrieve" steps to perform calculations and display stream attributes.
