Test 3
Test 3 (Element Imbalance Ratio) divides the balance error by the balance variance. Use it to identify significant mass imbalances. If the result exceeds ±1.0, then the out-of-balance condition is greater than expected. This is likely to be caused by random error only 5% of the time.
For a process, balance constraint is defined by the following formula.
Where:
balerr = imbalance in measured data.
balvar = balance variance.
T = number of standard deviations for the instrument tolerance.
ArcErf = inverse normal error distribution function.
ZT = the number of standard deviations corresponding to the required level of confidence you define. ( For 95% level of confidence, ZT = 2.0.)
