Tanks with Reconciled Values Below Minimum or Above Maximum
This analysis rule includes the list of tank elements that have a reconciled measured value below the minimum or above the maximum. When the reconciled value falls outside the range indicated by the tank's minimum and maximum, normal operating parameters have been violated. While nothing may be wrong (for example, the tank is being serviced) this situation is a gross error. This condition can indicate the following:
- Missing data
- Bad data
- Invalid tank configuration
The following table lists a sample log output for this analysis.
Sample Log
| Time | Severity | Element | Attribute | Message |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9/1/2005 10:06 | ...REPORTING TANKS WITH RECONCILED VALUE BELOW MINIMUM/ABOVE MAXIMUM - BASIS= VOLUME(L) | |||
| 9/1/2005 10:06 | Error | TankA | ReconciledVolume | ReconciledVolume= 1 above Maximum= 0 |
Analysis Method
- Collect a list of all tank elements in the current Case that satisfy the following criteria:
- Status Attribute value is IS (In Service).
- Based on the analysis basis selection, mass or volume, compare the measured value to the minimum and maximum attributes.
- Write to the log section of the case. Report the violating tank information.
Configuration Using the Wizard
The configuration of the Tanks with measurements below the minimum or above the maximum is a selection of the General Gross Error Analysis Rule. You open the window for configuring the test (shown in the following figure) from the General Gross Error Analysis Rule Wizard.
Open the Gross Error Configuration window as described in Configuring - General Gross Error Analysis Rule.
On the Tanks tab, select Tanks with reconciled values below minimum or above maximum.
A Tanks with reconciled values below minimum or above maximum - Attributes window opens.

Select measurement basis and the Attributes according to the following table:
Attributes
Selections Description Measurement Basis Select either mass or volume basis. Reconciled Reconciled volume measurement. The default is 'ReconciledMass' or 'ReconciledVolume', depending on mass or volume selection. Minimum Tank minimum inventory value. The default is 'Minimum' for a volume basis selection. There is no default for a mass basis selection. You must add the minimum Attribute that represents the minimum value if you want to use mass basis. Maximum Tank maximum inventory value. The default is 'Maximum' for a volume basis selection. There is no default for a mass basis selection. You must add the maximum Attribute that represents the maximum value if you want to use mass basis. Status Tank in/out of service status. The default is to 'ObjectStatus'. Click OK to finish the configuration.
The text "CONFIGURED" displays next to the 'Tanks with reconciled values below minimum or above maximum' selection.
