Flow Components with Negative Reconciled Values or Values Greater Than 1

This analysis rule includes the list of flow elements with reconciled component results that are negative or greater than 1. When the reconciled value is negative or is greater than 1, normal operating parameters have been violated. While nothing may be wrong (for example, the flow is being serviced) this situation is a gross error. This condition can indicate the following:

  • Missing data
  • Bad data
  • Invalid flow configuration

The following table lists a sample log output for this analysis.

Analysis Method

  1. Collect a list of all flow elements in the current Case that satisfy the following criteria:
  • Status Attribute value is IS (In Service).
  1. Test the reconciled component value to determine if negative or greater than 1 Write to the log section of the case. Report the violating flow information.

Configuration Using the Wizard

The configuration of the Flows with components with negative reconciled values or greater than 1 is a selection of the General Gross Error Analysis Rule. You open the window for configuring the test (shown in the following figure) from the General Gross Error Analysis Rule Wizard.

  1. Open the Gross Error Configuration window as described in Configuring - General Gross Error Analysis Rule.

  2. On the Flows tab, select Flows with components with negative reconciled values or greater than 1.

A Flows with components with negative reconciled values or greater than 1 - Attributes window opens.Figure 426: Flows with components with negative reconciled values or greater than 1 - Attributes window

  3. Select the Attributes according to the following table:

    Attributes

    SelectionsDescription
Reconciled Component ResultsFlow Attribute containing reconciled component results.
StatusFlow in/out of service status. This defaults to 'ObjectStatus'.
  4. Click OK to finish the configuration.

The text "CONFIGURED" displays next to the 'Flows with components with negative reconciled values or greater than 1' selection.

  5. To run this test, see Running the Post Reconciliation Gross Error Analysis.
